Widget sections overview
The Widget section (sidebar → Widget) lets you design, customise, and publish the ragistry chat widget that appears on your website. It is split into three sub-pages, all of which show a live preview panel on the right side of the screen.

| Identity | Brand content — organisation name, assistant name, about text, welcome heading, intro paragraph, call-to-action text, rotating placeholder texts |
| Deploy | Copy the embed <script> tag and place it on your website |
Important: The Deploy page requires the "About your organisation" text (set in Identity) to be filled in before embedding is possible.
Embedding the widget on your website
Embedding the widget on your website
Once your widget is configured and your identity fields are filled in, you can add the widget to any website in two steps.
Step 1 — Copy the script tag
- Go to Widget → Deploy.
- Find the code block labelled embed.html.
- Click the Copy icon (📋) on the right side of the code block.
- You'll see a toast notification: "Code kopiert!"
The code looks like this:
<script src="https://ragistry.com/widget.js"
data-organisation-id="YOUR_ORG_ID">
</script>
Step 2 — Paste into your HTML
Paste the <script> tag just before the closing </body> tag of every page where you want the widget to appear:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="de">
<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<title>Meine Website</title>
</head>
<body>
<h1>Willkommen</h1>
<!-- ragistry Chat Widget -->
<script src="https://ragistry.com/widget.js"
data-organisation-id="YOUR_ORG_ID">
</script>
</body>
</html>
The widget loads automatically every time a visitor opens the page.
Before deploying: Make sure the "About your organisation" text is saved in Widget → Identity — the Deploy page will show a warning if it is missing.
Configuring widget appearance
Configuring widget appearance
Open Widget → Configuration to control how the chat widget looks on your website. Every change is reflected immediately in the live preview panel on the right.
Available settings
| Setting | Options / Description |
|---|---|
| Theme | light or dark — sets the overall colour scheme of the widget |
| Primary colour | A colour picker — used for buttons, accents, and the launcher icon background |
| Position | Where the widget appears on the page, e.g. bottom-right, bottom-left |
| Chat launcher | button — a rectangular button, or bubble — a circular floating bubble |
| Icon | The icon shown inside the launcher (e.g. MessageSquare, etc.) |
| Header style | default — plain header, or primary — header uses the primary colour |
Rotating placeholder texts
You can add multiple short phrases that cycle in the chat input placeholder, e.g.:
- "Beleuchtung"
- "Smart Home"
- "Elektroinstallation"
These act as conversation starters to help visitors know what to ask about.
Saving
Changes are persisted to your organisation's configuration. The live preview panel on the right reflects the current unsaved state so you can compare before saving.
Setting your widget identity
Setting your widget identity
Open Widget → Identity to control the text content and branding that users see when they open the chat widget.
