Understanding conversation origins

Understanding conversation origins

Every conversation has an origin — where it was started. You can filter by origin using the Origin dropdown in the Conversations filter toolbar.

OriginWhat it means
All (default)Shows every conversation regardless of source
WidgetConversations started by visitors on your website through the embedded chat widget
DashboardConversations started by your internal team members directly inside the ragistry dashboard

This distinction is useful when you want to:

  • Review only end-customer questions (widget origin)
  • Review only internal team usage (dashboard origin)
  • Compare volume between the two channels
